I can literally swear I miss Singapore and everyone back there already. Oh right, you got it - this is a rant post by yours truly. Leading the most mundane life, even worst back home. I am here right now at an internet cafe, with nothing on mind except waiting for time to pass by.

Location currently - Pangkor. I doubt few have heard of this place. Its a 7hours bus ride till Sitiwan, then take a ferry of roughly 30mins before reaching the final destination. Yeah that's definitely going to cost me butt cramps for sure. And actually for one moment I had the thinking of I was going to have fun here at my gramp's place.

It kind of proved me wrong. For I spent yesterday and today doing nothing except sleep. No doubt about that. But luckily I brought a book to keep me entertained, and some movies stored inside my phone. Well, I came up with some reasons, both good and bad why you guys should visit Pangkor!

A sum up of this place - quiet and peaceful, outdated yet still in touch with technology. I've been here countless of times, for my gramps live here, an annual affair for my family. Its much much smaller in size, population compared to Singapore. 80% of the people here rides a motorcycle, 10% on bicycle, and 10% on cars.

Let me start with the pros side of this island (yes, its an island)

1. Totally no traffic lights, at all. Imagine, you just travel for less than 20mins from one end of the island to another! No need to stop and stare or whatever. Not like Singapore, travel less than 1minute, have to encounter a red light -.-

2. You ride with the wind. (Does not include visitors, only mainlanders) On a motorcycle with your head guard on, going against the wind with cool crisp air caressing your whole body. Sounds fantastic? Obviously is.

3. No age limit on when to get a driving license. In fact, you don't even need a driving license! As long as your parent agrees, you can learn how to ride a motorcycle regardless your age and size. Walau, awesome right? But beware of police of course.

4. Everyone knows everyone. Since it's a small island, you get to communicate with one another daily. Imagine going everywhere and recognising who they are, their profession, and getting discounts if we are the patrons for the night!

5. Move at a slower pace of life. People living here moves at the pace of a snail daily, without any worries, opening and closing their shops whenever they like. Doing whatever they feel like doing. No competition in this island in fact, hardly any.

6. No barriers. You see, buildings at Singapore tend to block the carefree wind from reaching us. At pangkor, all structures are no taller than 2 levels. Hence, you can feel the wind wherever you are!

And now comes the cons

1. Not in date with technology. In every household, you can't find a computer. Unless they can really spare that extra amount of money to buy it. No windows xp, no ps3. iPhone4? Nope, dont even talk about iphone 3!

2. No fast-food restaurants. KFC, Mac Donald, Pizza Hut, have been with me for as long as I can remember. Yet at Pangkor, you can't find any of them - I am dead serious. All restaurants here are all chinese/malay food.

3. Separated races. All of the chinese live in side A of Pangkor, while the malays live in side B of pangkor. Touch wood, but I can't imagine if race riots broke out! But nah, it won't happen, the relations between races are in fact well to do.

4. No ideal work for a better life. Everyone here are satisfied with what they have. No competition leads to no good paying job. As such, you can't find people aged 20-30 here, as everyone are overseas working harder for a living.

5. Education is poor. 10 times here, only 1 time I find myself catching students in proper school uniform. Well, it's mostly for families who do not have the capability to send their children off to other places of Malaysia for education.

6. Number of thefts. There are pickpockets here, and thiefs every night trying to runmage houses. And worst thing is that, there are no police to "complain" to! So if you are the unlucky target of the day, there goes all your belongings ):

Okay, this post is getting kinda draggy, its time for me to sign off and away. Bye! :D

Heading off to Malaysia from 24th-29th. Bye! :D

This holiday has been quite packed for me, it's either completing my homework, hanging out with my friends, or lazing around at home with my dearest computer and TV.

Hope this trip to visit my relatives would help me find back myself, give me the push to do better next year. I only dread one thing - the endless nags from my relatives! They would go blah blah blah and I'd go yeah yeah yeah. It's all for my own good, I know! How many times must you guys repeat yourself ?!

Anyway, I am glad to say I have already diligently finished more than 50% of my holiday homework! After that, I guess I'd probably start on my secondary 1-3 revision! Got to run. Tata.

Still remember the inaugural youth olympic games? Oh yes, that was way back to September? Or was it August? I only can vaguely recall the dates of the whatever matches that came along. One regret during this period of time - I did not attend a single event.

Yeah, that was a bummer, definitely. I desperately wanted to catch at least one of them, but the urge just wasn't strong enough I guess. I didn't give in to temptation (good case of course, shows I've got the strength to push things away) and just carried on with the mundane life I lived.

But obviously I caught some highlights on the TV. If I didn't I would be hailed the worst Singapore citizen ever - an understatement? Hah doubt so.

Agnes, our lady boss with me.

Anyway, my school did welcome the start of the youth olympic games. So on that fateful day, we all got ourselves prepared, while the participants of the YOG passes by us. It was only that few minutes, but the moments do last.

All of us got changed into half-uniform, which means P.E t-shirt and school uniform pants. We had our recess first, before heading to the hall for a short briefing cum "decorating" ourselves up with crayons. Refer to the below pictures to see what I meant.

Well obviously we had to get all hyped up, ever-ready for the event right? As such, it was a pact we all gave it our best shot to cheer our lungs out. Because, its actually a competition! The top 3 enthusiastic and loudest cheer class would be getting the YOG card!

Jieyi.

Tingyee.

Me, Agnes and Yingjun.

Here it is, using crayons to draw whatever that came into our minds. And most of them would be Youth olympic games, the YOG crest, our names, the star so on and so forth. Some mates of other classes, even went till the extent of screwing up their faces! And I meant real screwed. It wasn't just any design you know, it was like 100% coloured! Gosh, now that's the new cool :P

Now its Khairiah, Tingyee, Hweepeng, Jieyi, Kimberley and Klarissa.

That's one unglam picture, but whatever :P The best moments are captured!

Even the kindergarten kids came to join us as well! Alot of us got distracted by supposedly checking out when the competitors pass by, to interacting with the kids! I wasn't one of them, I find it hard to talk to children, especially when they can't understand my cheem english! Hah just kidding here :P

But nevertheless, everyone got so drifted away to the kids because of their cuteness! Well, who can't stand the sight of little kids running around, with nothing to worry about. Those were the good old times I must say. But life still goes on :)

Not forgetting to mention, we've got the band members to help bring drums, clarinets, anything and everything their hands could carry them to increase the volume of our cheer. It's legal alright!

In the process of waiting, we took pictures of course! That's one way to keep our memories fresh next time when we look back at these happy times.

Still in the midst of waiting, I swear my patience was wearing thin lah! Because there really was nothing to do. Oh correction, actually there was, just to prepare ourselves, we did some starting up cheers to warm up our voice.

And finally I call upon them, arrival of the youths. And all of us just started screaming our heads off, like retards, mad people trying to gain some attention. It was still part of the spirit lah! So thats a good sign.

Many of my classmates "complain" to me why there are tonnes of handsome guys on the bus, and I just couldn't find the right answer to reply them. Confirm got ugly ones lah, but all hidden inside :P They just haven't caught them yet, hah. Once again I was just joking.

Going overseas next wednesday, will be back on the 29th. Tata!

Sunday 14 November 2010

A sum up to wrap everything. I've gone back and forth on whether I should type something more in-depth, probably a more detailed account about the various happenings that have been rummaging through my mind. I'd figured if I'm still haunted by it endlessly, I might as well go ahead with it and post here.

I doubt I would be able to spill the whole of my introspection here in a post, neither would I be bothered to anyway. It'll just be whatever I can think of. Apologies here.

Taking a breather, guess that's what all I need from this year's never ending amount of homework, stress, barriers I have got to break. Year 2010 was one of the best I have indeed spent in my entire 15 years of life. On the contrary, the exceedingly unfavourable one too.

Best being that the I've obviously made more sincere, loving and caring mates around me whom I can trust, depend on. At the same time, building up the various principles I hold strongly in me.

Worst - I can't handle the pressure, me being temperamental. Lost two of my most bosom friends in life, and still in the midst of trying to salvage the situations I've got myself into. Its a dread encountering all these, but that's just part and parcel of life huh.

So a few weeks back, it was one of my toughest rides, the most extreme one I had to take. Coping with my end-of-year examinations were already a roller coaster, but with add-ons such as emotional ones? I could barely hang on to anything. I had never dealt with anything so heart-wrenching before.

To be honest, it was like a knife stabbed into my chest. An excruciating pain I have to endure no matter how deep the despondency sank. And unfortunately, it wasn't a physical one, whereby one could just faint if he/she couldn't take it. How I wish it occurred the same for emotional walls.

And how glad am I that the ultimate tide is finally over. Just that the picture of us never fail to fill up my mind 24/7. I have tried my utmost best to save our friendship, but all seems to be of no avail. It was one of my colossal mistakes in life, and I really regret making it. One wrong step was all I had to took and it was a road of no return. Correction, perhaps a chance in turning things around.

Time. Time will reveal everything, and definitely, heal my wounds, no matter how immeasurable it is. It's just that everything seems to pass like the snail period. A second feels like an hour, so on and so forth with that days plus months. For now, the only thing I look forward to isn't my vacation trips, my shopping paradises, instead just for us to have a reconcilation.

It seems to be an impossible task, I agree it is. For my countless times of trials have proved me so. However, that doesn't imply anything. By all means that I even have to cling on to every hope left. Just like how the night skies taught me, wish upon a wishing star. Or for that matter, the more up to date fashion - making a wish if you manage to catch 11:11. It's idiotic, an act of stupidity. But I wonder if that's how it is going to make me feel better, I will, with no hesitation. For I willingly acknowledge it guides me out of my darkest moments.

Touch my heart, and I'd say I did treasure you. It just wasn't enough. Believe it or not, I will be turning things right again, back to the proper track where a car belongs.

The haunting has erected in me for the past 1month, and I am so going to get it out of my head. Not now, not yet. Once again, I need time.

Saturday 13 November 2010

The proper school holidays for me has officially started. Am glad there's finally a break for us, after countless weeks of studying. Of course, holidays mean a well deserved rest for all. However, not forgetting there's always assignments handled to us, and preparing for the upcoming o levels.

Everything seems to pass in a jiff, barely leaving any time for me to make amendments for whatever wrong I've done or caused. And not allowing me to interact more with my classmates. Since this is a place where I spill everything out, I shall be honest with myself. For the entire extended academic programme, I think I talk to less than 10 person a day in school. Pathetic enough? I shan't carry on anymore.

It was celebration for Shawn, (birthday boy above), months back. Well, around the month of August/September. Original plan was to head for East Coast Park, but change of plans, and off we went to was Sentosa.

The number of people were countable, some couldn't make it, some came at a later timing. But we'll make do with whatever that comes along (: Got a cake from (I can't remember where), but at Vivo City definitely. Took it all the way to Sentosa and let the scorching hot sun beat down mercilessly on it.

Joe.

It was pretty much clever enough of us to leave the cake lying. And this was our end result - a 80% melted cake, or should I call it ice-cream? But still, it tasted good lah! You can't expect us to throw away everything right!

Tingyee and Shawn. We had to buy a volleyball as nobody brought it T.T I had one at home. But because I thought, he thought, she thought someone would bring a volleyball. So in the end had to fork out another 20bucks to purchase.

Had a great time over there, playing volleyball. Unfortunately, we did not go down to the water. Majority didn't want to get wet, so had to do everything on land then. And damn, the sun was like an oven that day, it was till late evening and yet it still was burning hot. Luckily I didn't suffer from sunburnt even when I did not apply any sunblock! Is that pro? :P

Rachel and Tingyee. We literally forced ourselves to finish at least half of the cake. Totally missed the part of getting utensils! In the end, had to use the scooping cake utensil to eat it.

Lastly a picture of Tingyee and me. We left around 6pm+, and gosh was the toilet packed like sardines! Didn't wash up, just dried myself from all the sweat. After that it was Vivo City for dinner, took away long john silver and went to the sky garden to bond.

It was a fulfilling day, left the place at around 9pm+ as I was given a curfew ): Shall stop here then. Promise to update more! :D
